The CDC recently issued guidance indicating that COVID-19 vaccines should not be delayed because of testing for TB infection. Testing for TB infection can be done before or at the same time as the COVID-19 vaccination. If it is not done at the same time, the TB test should be delayed for at least four weeks.
If you are scheduling your annual exam, CHS will ask if you have had the COVID-19 vaccination. If you’ve had the vaccination, they will not schedule the TB test until the four-week time-frame has passed. The lack of this test will not affect the medical determination for your annual exam. You may need to subsequently take the TB test when you schedule your Interval exam.
If you have received the COVID vaccine, please email a copy of your shot record to the medical department at [email protected] to be kept with your other shot information in your medical record.
