ITF launches new mariner web site (6/18)

The International Transport Workers' Federation (ITF), to which the SIU is affiliated, has unveiled a new web site which it says will be a major new resource for the world’s seafarers. ITF General Secretary David Cockroft said, "www.itfseafarers.org is one of a kind -- an easy to use, worldwide free service for seafarers designed to give them exactly what they’ve been asking for."

The ITF says the new site is a "one stop shop" for seafarers anywhere, with any level of web access and computer fluency. The web site offers information on health, pay and safety and includes features such as message boards and the ability to look up vessels and check what crew agreements are in place.
