Union Plus scholarship info (1/8)

The AFL-CIO reminds affiliates that there’s still time to apply for a Union Plus scholarship, though the deadline – January 31 – is fast approaching.

Current and retired members of AFL-CIO unions participating in any Union Plus program (the SIU is enrolled in several), their spouses and their dependent children can apply for a Union Plus scholarship. The amount of the award ranges from $500 to $4,000. This is a one-time cash award sent to individual winners for undergraduate study beginning in the fall of the same year.

Applicants may be current students, or plan to attend a college, university, community college, technical or trade school. Participating AFL-CIO union members from Puerto Rico, Canada, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands are eligible to apply.

For more information on the scholarship program, visit the Union Plus web site HERE
