ITF campaign wins agreements on Chilean fleet (1/1)

The International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) recently reported that new labor agreements have been secured for 19 ships operated by the Chilean company Compania Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV). The contracts were obtained following an ITF campaign that spanned three continents.

According to the federation, to which the SIU is affiliated, “The ITF initiative delivered a 40 percent increase in ITF coverage for seafarers on CSAV’s flag of convenience fleet. Over half of these ships – mainly container vessels on long term charter from German owners – now have ITF conditions.”
