SIU-contracted Horizon Lines recently issued the following news release.

Lowe’s Recognizes Horizon Lines with 2006 Platinum Carrier Award for Outstanding Service

CHARLOTTE, NC, February 20, 2007 – The Lowe’s Companies Inc. Home Improvement Transportation Division has awarded Horizon Lines with its most prestigious honor, The 2006 Platinum Carrier Award for the highest levels of delivered service. He said, “Horizon Lines is willing and able to work with our team to realize efficiencies throughout the supply chain for our Alaska and Hawaii stores.” Brian Taylor, Horizon’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, accepted the award on the carrier’s behalf. “It’s a great recognition of our people and the passion they have for what they do, in both process and service delivery. He continued, “We are thrilled to be honored by one of the nation’s leading growth companies.”
