Kudos to Gianella galley gang (2/1)

The captain of the SIU-crewed USNS Lawrence Gianella recently commended the steward department for a job continually well done.

“Hats off to the SIU steward department,” wrote Captain Robert Lee, who submitted the photos below. “Steward David Belle, Chief Cook Gerald Joseph, GSU John Rascon, GSU Carlos Balado-Hernandez and SIU Apprentice Tabethia Twine have been putting out excellent meals and keeping a shipshape galley. Everyone aboard is always looking forward to the next meal. Steward Dave Belle has been a good motivator and team leader. The members of the department have answered the call to duty in grand fashion. The skills of each and every member of the department have been greatly appreciated by the crew and we all have new waistlines to prove it. I would also like to recognize the great work by GSU William Carter, who went on vacation just before this picture was taken.

“BRAVO-ZULU, well done indeed.”

The Gianella is a tanker operated by Ocean Shipholdings, Inc. for the U.S. Military Sealift Command.
