Rondeau confirmed as TRANSCOM deputy commander (11/21)

The United States Transportation Command has announced the confirmation of Navy Vice Adm. Ann E. Rondeau as the agency’s next deputy commander. TRANSCOM issued the following news release, which also is available on their web site HERE Vice Adm. Rondeau confirmed to become USTRANSCOM Deputy Commander By Maj. G. P. Mirabella, U.S. Transportation Command Public Affairs SCOTT AIR FORCE BASE, Ill. (USTCNS) --- Navy Vice Adm. Ann E. Rondeau was confirmed by the Senate on November 16 to become, U.S. Transportation Command’s next deputy commander. Rondeau currently serves as director, Navy Staff, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Rondeau graduated with a degree in History in 1973 from Eisenhower College, where she was selected by the Board of Trustees as "Most Distinguished Graduate" and received the Groben Award for Leadership. Commissioned in 1974 through Officer Candidate School, her assignments include Office of the Secretary of Defense as Assistant for Policy Analysis; Special Assistant to the Attorney General for National Security Affairs as a White House Fellow; Military Assistant to the Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy; and Deputy Chief of Staff for Shore Installations for Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet Staff. She assumed her current post as director, Navy Staff in August 2005. Rondeau is surface warfare qualified, trained on both Military Sealift Command Merchant Marine vessels and U.S. Navy combatants. She holds a master's degree in Political Science from Georgetown University and has qualifications in political-military affairs, strategy and planning, operations analysis, and military transportation, and is a permanent member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Rondeau is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Adult and higher Education from Northern Illinois University, and has been conferred an Honorary Doctoral Degree in Public Service from Carthage College. Her awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Meritorious Service Medal, and Navy Commendation Medal. USTRANSCOM's mission is to provide air, land and sea transportation for the Department of Defense in times of peace and war. As the single manager for defense transportation, USTRANSCOM moves troops, equipment and supplies wherever needed and continues to provide transportation support to sustain forces for as long as necessary. ###
