ITF site outlines FOC campaign (11/12)

Flag-of-convenience shipping, also known as runaway-flag shipping, is a security threat to the United States and a detriment to the U.S.-flag fleet, the SIU contends. The union is very active in the campaign run by the International Transport Workers’ Federation (ITF) against FOC shipping.

The ITF provides a worthwhile summary of the campaign HERE.

Also, earlier this year SIU Secretary-Treasurer David Heindel testified before Congress on the dangers of FOCs. His remarks can be found HERE.
