Seafarers-contracted Matson Navigation Company christened its new containership MV Manukai July 12 at Philadelphia Kvaerner Shipyard, Inc. Mrs. Margaret Inouye, wife of Senator Daniel K. Inouye of Hawaii, did the honors.The vessel is the first of a two-ship, $220 million contract with Kvaerner. Among those present for the ceremony were Senator Inouye and Governor Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania.
