Prepositioning ship Martin heads to U.S. (8/26)

The U.S. Military Sealift Command (MSC) has issued a press release concerning the SIU-crewed prepositioning ship USNS 1st Lt. Harry L. Martin.

"Since the outset of Operation Iraqi Freedom and following off-load of her Marine Corps cargo in Kuwait, USNS Martin has been used to transport military cargo from point to point, rather than its traditional role of afloat prepositioning," the agency noted.
