Reminder concerning drug-free certificates (2/10)
The union has been advised by the U.S. Coast Guard in Washington, D.C. that any transaction at the U.S. Coast Guard Regional Exam Centers (RECs) requiring a drug-free certificate will not be accepted if the letter of proof is not from the Medical Review Officer (MRO). An MRO is a representative of the contracted testing facility. He or she issues a certificate to the mariner after the test results are known.
